Kolora-Noorat, locked out of top spot by percentage, has welcomed star midfielders in Jason Moloney and Sam Harkin back to its fold, while Nirranda has re-gained dangerous forward Robbie Gregg from injury.
But Power coach Danny Finn said the importance of winning contested ball in the game could not be undersold.
“I reckon it’s really going to be a highlight of the game. Whoever can win the contested ball out of the middle will probably go close to winning,” Finn said.
“Both sides have good targets in their forward lines, so how the mids use the ball going forward will be key.
“It’s a very important component, contested ball. We both have strong midfields.”
Nirranda co-coach Shane Threlfall was confident yet wary as his side approached full strength.
“They’re right up there, aren’t they? They’ve got some real top-end talent," he said.
“We’re feeling good. We’ve got some depth in our reserves too, so they can definitely come up if needed.”
Threlfall said Nirranda was feeling better for the league-wide bye last week but was looking forward to a consistent run of games into the latter half of the season.
“It definitely helped our players in their recovery from injury,” he said.
