Warrnambool Freemasons handed over a cheque to Food Share executive officer Dedy Friebe
Warrnambool Freemasons social and fundraising committee chairman Neil Smith said it was an easy choice when it came to selecting a group to donate to.
“We couldn't find a better local charity than Food Share,” he said.
“We ran a melbourne Cup eve fun night. We had all types of activities on the night and raised more than $1000.”
The Freemasons Foundation Victoria also chipped in about $4300.
Mr Friebe said the money would be spent on infrastructure upgrades and machinery.
“We are ecstatic with the phenomenal support,” he said.
“This money will pay for a pallet lifter and more shelving and cupboard space, which with our growing demand we desperately need.”
Food Share is an independent and not-for-profit organisation which provides emergency food relief to the community.
