The draft plan explores the area’s capacity for further residential growth and also includes a drainage analysis, a traffic impact assessment and an investigation into potential climate change impacts.
The council is seeking public feedback and comments on the draft plan.
The Logans Beach coastal area is located to the east and south of the Hopkins River in Warrnambool, with land on either side of Hopkins Point Road.
The area consists of land zoned rural living to the south of Hopkins Point Road including public land zoned public park and recreation zone and public conservation and recreation zone.
The area also includes land zoned rural living to the north of Hopkins Point Road and a small strip of general residential zone abutting Hopkins River (Riverview Terrace).
The project area is about 100 hectares in size.
The plan aims to provide guidance on planning controls within the area to facilitate further residential development while considering any climate change risks and opportunities.
Comments on the draft plan are required to be submitted by Monday, July 31 and should be forwarded to city strategy coordinator Julie Glass, Warrnambool City Council, PO Box 198, Warrnambool, 3280.
Submissions can also be submitted via email to planning@warrnambool.vic.gov.au.
