Originally scheduled to take part on Thursday night, the meeting has been swapped with Geelong to allow staff more time to grade – or flatten – the Wannon Park surface.
Geelong will race in Warrnambool’s regular Thursday night spot. Warrnambool, meanwhile, will race in Geelong’s Friday night timeslot with a 7pm start.
Warrnambool Greyhound Racing Club manager Craig Monigatti said the club was honoured to host the memorial.
“It’s a small thing we can do for the family, as they’ve been involved in greyhound racing for a very long time,” he said.
“(Jade) was a tragic loss and it’s about remembering her, as well as recognising the Weisse family’s involvement in the sport.”
Warrnambool’s Stephen Bruce will field Black Sass in the memorial, while Thomas Sinnott (Yambuk) has Over and Away. The Sisters’ Paul Riches rounds out the local chances with Crymelon Kit.
