COFFEE lovers are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and show off their best designs at Rough Diamond’s latte art ‘smackdown’ competition. Cafe owners Katherine and Henry Bird are hosting the charity event next Thursday at their Koroit Street shop, with entry via gold coin donation.

Mrs Bird said south-west baristas could enter, with all funds raised going to Southwest Healthcare’s Delta Dog therapy program.
“It will be a fast-paced knockout style competition,” she said. “It’s a competition for local baristas as well as a networking event between cafes and the industry.”
She said they were hoping to raise at least $600 for the program. The event is open to the public, with the crowd deciding the winner. It is on from 5.30-7.30pm on July 27.
