It’s the second year the vaulting competition has been held in the south-west and van Someren Equestrian Vaulting manager Sharyn van Someren said the public was welcome to come along and catch the unique sport in action.
Ms van Someren described vaulting as gymnastics on horseback, with competitors travelling from across Victoria to take part.
About 17 local competitors will go up against teams from further afield in individual and group routines, with almost 40 competitors expected to take part in Saturday’s event.
“We will have an all-abilities section again this year as well,” Ms van Someren said.
The event will be held at the Orford Indoor Arena, at 1649 Tarrone Lane.
“People are welcome to come along. We had about 100 to 150 people there last year, it’s quite a spectacle,” Ms van Someren said.
The action begins at 9am. There will be catering on site and entry is via a gold coin donation.
