The 12-year-old St Joseph’s Primary School student has earned selection on the 10-player  School Sport Victoria 12 and under boys Team Vic side bound for the national championships at Adelaide in December.

The selection news came just a month after George also earned selection on the SSV Australian Rules 12 and under football team, which competes at Darwin in August.

“Hopefully I make it the highest level, AFL or NBA,” George said of his long-term sporting goals.

He said he had not had to choose between the sports yet, with his footy commitments with South Warrnambool and basketball commitments with Warrnambool Seahawks occurring in separate seasons.

George said he was looking forward to the challenge of taking on the best young basketballers around Australia at the School Sport Australia Pacific School Games Basketball Championships.
