Unnamed Whale Boat is an immersive video art and sound installation which will be launched on Friday at The Artery in Warrnambool.
It is accompanied by a selection of abstract pastel drawings of shipwreck coast horizons by Kathryn McKinnon.
Peters’ and Rainbow’s multimedia work explores the local folklore and mythology of the shipwreck coast including the often unpublicised and forgotten underside to the popular tourist destination.
Three screens of video art and spatialised sound will be used to entwine gallery goers with stories of the Mahogany Ship and Loch Ard and the Crawford family murder and retelling them in a unique 21st century way.
Peters is a practicing video artist and arts curator and her work explores the manipulation of time, performance elements, social media, and technology.
The exhibition opening is on Friday night at the Artery, in Timor Street, from 6pm.
