But 12 rounds in to the Warrnambool and District Football Netball League season, its best netball is matching it with the competition’s finest.
Panmure enters the three-month mark of the season with three wins and seven losses, but is riding good form after a nine goal triumph over fourth-placed South Rovers.
“We’re a pretty young team. Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve been playing four quarters of netball, because prior to that, we’d been a bit up-and-down,” coach Steph Jamieson said.
“This week will be a good test. When we played Timboon in round one, it was goal for goal. It’ll be interesting to see how we go.
“We’re expecting it to be a tough, close game once again.”
Jamieson, a first-year coach after crossing from Allansford, said leaders were beginning to emerge in her new-look side.
“Our talk down the court has been much better over the last couple of weeks,” she said.
“It just boosts your confidence a little bit.”
