ROTATIONAL Allansford forward Brett Findlay has described Saturday’s clash with cellar dwellar Russells Creek as a “massive opportunity” for the battling Cats.

The 23-year-old, who crossed to the Cattery after Deakin University Sharks went into recess at the end of last season, said the Cats were determined to distance themselves from bottom spot.
He said several Sharks had pulled on the blue and white hoops and were finding their feet at Allansford.
“We have a couple of games against Creek and East going into the end of the year and they’re just really big opportunities for us,” Findlay said.
“We want to keep that gap on the bottom teams and that will hold us in good stead for next year and we can definitely build on that.
“(Being competitive) is something we’re talking about. It’s a positive, but in the same light, it’s a negative. We’ve shown we’ve been able to match it with the best but it’s just in patches.”
Findlay said the side had to ensure their pressure remained in-tact for the entirety of the Creek clash if they were to win.
