The Roosters have lodged a clearance for Moloney – who played 166 AFL games across 12 seasons with Geelong, Melbourne and Brisbane from 2003-2014 – adding to what has been a busy week for the club as it seeks to load up on high-end homegrown talent before the June 30 transfer window deadline.
They have also put in clearances for ex-Gold Coast Sun and current North Ballarat Roosters player Louis Herbert, as well as Ollie Lee.
If the three clearances are approved, it would be a massive boon for a team that is in the thick of the 2017 Hampden senior footy flag race.
The Roosters also lodged a clearance for ex-AFL player Jonathan Brown this week, with the Brisbane triple premiership player expected to make a one-off appearance for the club in the second half of the season.
