TWO key dates have been announced for the 2017 Port Fairy Spring Music Festival.

Festival artistic director Iain Grandage said tickets go on sale on August 14. He is encouraging people to become friends of the festival, a status which gives them extra access. Friends of the festival can secure their tickets in the priority booking period from August 1-13.

“Members receive invitations to the festival launch in Melbourne and the opening reception in Port Fairy,” Mr Grandage said.

“For those of you who attend (the launch), you will be treated to tantalizing performances by festival artists, as well as an overview of the festival program. It is filled with masterworks of the western canon and works that speak to our theme of ‘Migrations’.”

The launch of the festival will be held on July 31 at the Horti Hall in Melbourne.

The festival is on October 13-15. Last year’s festival line-up included Archie Roach and Katie Noonan.

TALENT: Katie Noonan played at last year's Port Fairy Spring Music Festival. The line-up for 2017 will be announced in July.
