Detective Senior Constable Richard Hughes, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said the break-in happened between 4.15pm last Thursday and 10.15pm on Saturday while the residents were away.
Offenders forced open the back glass door and removed it from its runners.
They entered the kitchen and then ransacked rooms, searching through draws, cabinets and clothes.
Six rings and a number of bracelets, valued at more than $1500, were stolen from the top of a dresser.
Warrnambool police crime scene officers attended and conducted a forensic examination of the home.
Detective Senior Constable Hughes requested anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to please contact the Warrnambool police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
