UPDATE 7PM: Russells Creek coach Heath Moloney says teenager Chris Robertson was taken to hospital after a bad concussion during Saturday’s clash against Old Collegians.
Moloney said the young Kangaroo collected the ball and was trying to weave around a player when he the incident occurred.
“I’m not sure if he got knocked out or was unconscious,” the coach said. “The trainers called an ambulance; they just wanted to make sure he was OK.”
Trainers assessed Robertson on the ground and opted to leave him where he was and wait for paramedics rather than stretcher him off.
The match was abandoned after 30 minutes lapsed without play resuming, through a combination of waiting for the ambulance and paramedics treating the teenager at the scene.
More to come.
