Under the new allowances approved at the June monthly meeting, the mayor will receive $76,521 per year and councillors will get $24,730, plus superannuation.
It is an increase from the mayor’s allowance of $74,655 and councillors’ payment of $24,127 until the end of the 2016 term.
No submissions on the allowances were received during the 28-day public comment period.
The state government sets the range for allowances.
Warrnambool City Council is classed as a category two council with a councillor allowance range from $10,284 to $24,730 per year.
Moyne and Corangamite shire mayors and councillors receive the same remuneration as Warrnambool.
