Splitting his time between working at Deakin University and Victorian UAS Training, the techno-ecologist is finding personal satisfaction in becoming Koroit’s youngest Lions Club cub.
What do you most love about living in Koroit? The community feel, being able to know my neighbours, and the housing prices.
Describe Koroit in five words Inclusive, Community, Relaxed, Welcoming, Developing.
If you could live anywhere where would you choose? Long-term it'd have to be somewhere in Australia, but for a year or two it'd be fun to work as a park ranger in Yellowstone National Park in the USA.
What do you do to immerse yourself in the community? I joined the Koroit Lions Club. I'm a bit younger than their average member, but the work and projects they undertake in the community are amazing.
If you had a million dollars what would you do with it? I'd probably buy a big house, and blow the rest on technology. I'm a bit of a technophile and love having the newest gadgets.
What career did you want to pursue when you were a teenager? I wanted to be a scientist, and chase polar bears in Alaska.
If you could choose to go back or forward 100 years what would you do and why? Definitely 100 years forward. I love technology and given the current acceleration in innovation, it'd be amazing to see what exists in a century.
What recipe are you renowned for cooking for family or friends? Pulled pork. I'm a big fan of American barbecue.
If you had all the time in the world to pursue any hobby what would it be? I tried to learn the saxophone in high school. I'd like to get back into that.
What is the best piece of advice you've been given? Work hard and take pride in what you do, no matter what the job is.
Where do you see yourself in 20 years? Hopefully still living in Koroit, working in emerging technologies in environmental science and conservation.
