VicHealth is driving the We Know Your Name But Not Your Story project, in collaboration with Corangamite Shire Council, its youth councillors and Melbourne-based organisation Humankind Enterprises.
Corangamite youth council mayor Ripley Watt said telling people’s story was important.
“Launching this story-telling project is designed to bring the community together and I encourage everyone to get involved,” Ripley said.
“Training for interested story collectors between the ages of 12-25 will be happening on Monday July 3 in Camperdown with buses running for attendees from most Corangamite towns.”
On June 15, a display StoryPod video booth will be placed at the Camperdown Clocktower to create interest in the project.
A recent survey conducted by south-west health services found only one in four young people felt they belonged and felt lonely at times.
Young people interested in the project can register for the story collecting training at www.storycollectors.eventbrite.com.au
