Liquid Distance is a mixture of “recent studies and resolved works” inspired by local scenes.
“The majority of works are derived from encounters at night (while) navigating a 2.5 km area stretching from a lake to a highway in a regional town,” Peters said.
The new works, completed over the past couple of months, are small 10cm x 10cm studies and feature alongside some larger works.
“Much of the work is based on studies of my own memory,” Peters said.
“This time the works have become looser and they've somewhat developed into an allegorical version of Warrnambool.”
Peters is a two-time Warrnibald winner.
The exhibition runs until June 25, with an official opening taking place on Saturday from 6pm.
It’s open at The Artery in Timor Street from Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm.
