The pair will wear the state colours at the Australian National Junior Table Tennis Championships in Hobart in July. It will be the third time both Georgia and Joe have represented Victoria.
In Hobart, Georgia will be part of the Under 18 girls B team while Joe is in the under 18 boys B team.
Joe, 16, said he was looking forward to the challenge.
“I will be up against a lot of good players, I’m hoping to be competitive,” he said.
Georgia, 15, is also keen to test herself.
“I am moving up an age group which will make it tougher,” she said.
The selection comes after both players spent the last three months competing in tournaments across the state.
As well as the state honour, Joe has been named as a recipient of the Olympic Council 2017 Pierre de Coubertin Award. This award recognises students who demonstrate values which are consistent with the Olympic movement through participation in sporting activities.
The Warrnambool Table Tennis Association has 70 members, ranging from juniors to seniors, and is keen to add to that.
Anyone interested in playing can contact Roger on 0427584930.
