Holloway described the loss as the Cats’ “worst game of the season”, but praised their effort and endeavour in the loss.
Panmure’s six-goal third term put the result beyond doubt, with the Bulldogs running out 15.13 (103) to 8.1 (49) winners.
Holloway, a co-coach with Brett Membrey, said the Cats would put the result behind them leading into their bye round next week.
“We’re pretty disappointed. We went in not confident, but hoping to be really competitive,” he said.
“I don’t know if we were in front of ourselves but it was the worst game we’ve played for the season. Our skills were atrocious.
“We can’t question the work rate and intensity but our skills hurt us, even when we weren’t under pressure. But that’s footy, and we’ll move on.”
