They face the third-placed Hamilton Kangaroos, who have only dropped one game so far, at Melville Oval, with both teams striving to keep ahead in what is shaping as a very even season for the Hampden open grade netball.

“We’re expecting a tough game – they’re always hard to play, especially in Hamilton,” Mitchell said.

“They’re a lot taller than some other teams, so that’ll be tough.”

The talented goaler, who has already powered to an incredible 159 goals from four games, is wary of a Kangaroos defence led by Rhianne Lewis, whom Mitchell labelled “one of the toughest defenders” in the league.

But Koroit would be optimistic about their chances of giving the Kangaroos’ defence a run for their money, with Mitchell, who is averaging just shy of 40 goals a game, teaming well with Carly Pulling and Bridget Roache.

But while Mitchell has shouldered the majority of the responsibility finishing plays with scoring shots, she was modest about her high yield.

“I just try to get as many as I can, they (my teammates) get the ball to me,” she said.
