SEASONED half-back Shaun Griffin is expected to shore up Panmure’s chances of snaring its third triumph of the campaign on Saturday.

Bulldogs coach Joe Kenna is also set to return for the Allansford clash, while promising backman Joe Owen-McNeil will return after unavailability prior to the interleague bye.

Kenna said the bye had been a godsend for the injury-plagued club.

“I think we got to the stage that we were a bit lean with numbers, as a lot of clubs are at this stage of the season,” he said.

“The bye was the perfect timing to have a rest and to get away for a week. We’ve focused a lot this week on being alert throughout games.

“We’ve had a bit of a tendency to drift in and out of games. We can play some really good footy in patches but we need to do it all the time.”

The second-year coach flagged Allansford as a dangerous side despite its 10th-place footing.

“I’ve played with Members (Brett Membrey) and Leners (Ben Lenehan) before, and they won’t give up,” Kenna said.

“We’ll have to be on from the get-go.”
