Hecta, who hung on to defeat Savaheat over 1200 metres at Warrnambool on May 4, jumps in class and distance when he lines up in a $100,000 race over 1400 metres at Flemington on Saturday.
Wilde said Hecta had not put a foot wrong since his debut win earlier this month.
“Originally I was going to give Hecta a break after Warrnambool, but the horse has done so well I've decided to have a throw at the stumps,” the Warrnambool-based trainer said.
“He's worked well since his maiden win. We've had his blood done and it's clear.
“We're probably throwing him in at the deep end a bit, but I've got a fair opinion of the horse. He's probably six months away from maturing, but I thought he's so well we’ll just have a crack. I think we'll put him in the paddock after this run.”
Hecta picked up more than $36,000 including bonuses with his win at Warrnambool, which went a long way to paying his purchase price of $67,500 at the 2016 VOBIS Gold Yearling sales in Melbourne.
“The VOBIS system is a great incentive to get owners involved in racing horses,” Wilde said.
“The bonus system makes it really attractive for owners as there is so much prizemoney on offer.”
Wilde also saddles up Havadash in the $100,000 Winx Hall Of Fame trophy at Flemington, while he accepted with Floral Fever in a $100,000 restricted race at Morphettville.
Darren Weir's satellite stable in Warrnambool has runners all over the country, including feature black-type races at Morphettville and Doomben.
Black Heart Bart and Ragesse run in the $1million Goodwood Handicap. Star Exhibit and Articus are set to line up for a crack at the $650,000 Doomben Cup.
