Despite the wet conditions, the show went on with the young athletes testing themselves against their contemporaries.
Races were held in age groups of under 10s, 11s and 12-13s.
The races were held in Albert Park with the finish line at the Reid Oval.
The overall school winner from the day was St Joseph’s.
Second was Warrnambool Primary, third was Our Lady Help of Christians, fourth was Warrnambool East and fifth was St Pius.
The top eight place-getters from each race will now go on to compete at a division level.
This will take place on May 26 at Deakin University in Warrnambool. From there, the best runners will compete at regional level on June 5 with the prize from this a place at the state titles.
