There were some great outfits on course during the May Racing Carnival and The Standard was there to capture photos of men and women in their finery.
The people have spoken and voted for their favourite outfit during race week in The Standard’s Hot 30 and Hot 100.
The winners of Thursday’s Hot 100 competition were Madelyn Fogarty-Connolly from Warrnambool followed by Peta Bell from Geelong, who placed second, and Eddie White from Allansford came third.
Miss Fogarty-Connolly won the competition with a dress she “scooped up for $50”.
The 22-year-old bought the new dress online from Warrnambool Wardrobe, when the original owner sold it because it was too long. “It was quite a pick up,” she said.
Miss Fogarty-Connolly said the outfit cost less than $150, pairing the dress with a fascinator she borrowed.
She has won two nights accommodation at Auldy’s on East Beach. “This has made my week completely,” she said when notified.
The winner of Tuesday’s Hot 30 was Ashlee Lilley from Warrnambool. Second place went to Bec Couch from Brucknell and third went to Cathryn Richardson from Warrnambool.
Prizes will be awarded to Hot 100 winner Madelyn Fogarty-Connolly, will receive a Port Fairy accommodation package for eight people at Auldy’s in Port Fairy. Peta Bell has won a $300 voucher to Leskes Jewellers in Port Fairy and Ashlee Lilley, the Hot 30 winner, will receive a $200 voucher to Leskes Jewellers. Prize winners will be notified by phone.
*Congratulations to our winners and thanks to all who entered. We hope you had a great time at the carnival.
