The Blues’ midfielder will require scans after his leg got twisted in a contest and had a player fall across it.
“We’re hoping it’s just a bad bruise,” Blues co-coach Shane Threlfall said.
“It might not be (too bad), but we need some precautionary scans.”
The Blues drew their match with the Demons 6.11 (47) to 7.5 (47) at Timboon Recreation Reserve.
The Demons had led each change, before the visitors found their way to the front in the last.
Trailing by 16 points heading into the last, Nirranda booted the first three goals of the last to take the lead, which the Demons were able to reclaim, moving one point clear.
But a missed shot by Nirranda late in the contest levelled the scores, with both teams running out of time to break the deadlock.
“For three quarters, we didn’t even deserve to get a draw,” Threlfall said. “And that’s credit to Timboon.
“Then in the last quarter we had a chance to win it, but we didn’t. Just our intensity lifted around the ball and we were able to get some free flow.
“(But) it would’ve been an injustice to Timboon to lose; they were fantastic for most of the game.”
First-year Blue Luke Weel was fantastic across half-back before moving into the midfield in the second half, where he also had a big impact, winning a lot of the ball and helping the Blues lift their intensity around the contest.
James Willsher was also influential around the ball, while Matthew Lloyd was solid at centre half-back.
Timboon Demons coach Mick Hunt was pleased to get through the match with players left on the bench for the first time this season – though they were down to two.
“To be honest, that’s probably the only way it could be in the end,” he said.
“You could win, you could lose, but you draw.
“We’ll take that because we think Nirranda is a pretty good side that won the flag last year and they will be probably top-three; so we’ll take a draw.
“We played some pretty great footy in a lot of ways.”
Hunt said the feeling among the Demons’ playing group was great and they were focused heading into the important clash.
