Huge run – it's got his confidence back. I needed something to soften the leader a little bit and it was not going to be me.
- Shane Jackson
They shared their thoughts on their respective runs after the 3200-metre race.
2nd: HONEY STEEL’S GOLD
Shane Jackson: Huge run – it's got his confidence back. I needed something to soften the leader a little bit and it was not going to be me. I wanted to get the drop on him.
3rd: URBAN EXPLORER
Martin Kelly: He ran a huge race. He hit a bit of a flat spot down the back before the third last.
4th: ANGELOLOGY
Steven Pateman: He went OK but the winner probably broke his heart. He got within a length before the business end but he couldn't go on with it.
5th: ARCH FIRE
Jamie Mott: He was a bit disappointing today. He had really good run in the race. I was able to get on the back of the winner getting to the second last but he couldn't quicken.
6th: JOHN MONASH
Tom Ryan: I would say he just needed the run badly. He only had one flat run before that. I would say he will improve of that run.
7th: TREMEC
Arron Lynch: He was just grinding away and hit the second last and that was the end of him.
