KOROIT midfielder James Gow’s first appearance for VFL club Geelong was a winner as the Cats toppled flag fancy Casey Demons on Saturday. The 19-year-old was 23rd man for the Cats – a position aimed at giving young players a chance to play in the state league – in their home match. Geelong broke away in the second half to defeated the Demons 14.8 (92) to 8.8 (56) at Simonds Stadium.
