The Bombers ran the game out well to defeat the Kangaroos 15.28 (118) to 11.7 (73) after holding just a three-point lead at the final change.
“There was probably a lot of rushed behinds…(but) we had some very gettable shots there,” Dare said. “Our conversion rate is pretty poor. We need to address that and work out a way to get more accurate in front of goal.”
Jesse Williams was one who was on-song, booting five majors after moving forward from the wing in the second half, while Lincoln Dare put in a dominant game at centre half-forward. He kicked just one goal for the night, but broke the game open and took a lot of good grabs on the lead.
Kangaroos coach Matt Dunn lauded his charges’ ability to push Cobden for three-and-a-half quarters, before the four-day turnaround got the better of them.
