The Demons ran out 20.21 (141) to 2.7 (19) victors over a hapless Russells Creek on Saturday.
Hunt said while no major injuries came out of the club’s 122-point drubbing of Creek, several players would be closely monitored to ensure they remained healthy.
“We just can’t seem to get a full team on the park at the moment,” he said.
“We got through but we just don’t want it to be a knock-on effect for the next game with any (minor) injuries.
“We’re never going to risk players from a winning position and we’re being precautionary at the moment.”
Hunt told The Standard that several of the Demons’ recruits were still finding their feet, but lauded the efforts of Angus Robertson, who bagged five goals.
He said Timboon was “about par” with their progress at the same time in 2016.
“You can speak about game plans, but when you’ve got a good group of players, they jel together,” Hunt said.
“We've had four or five new guys in the side on Saturday. ‘Gus’ found his feet and I think he’s really starting to fit in with the group.
“With how we’re going, I expect we’ll get better as the year goes on. We’ve got Nirranda next week, which will be tough with them coming off a premiership.
“A lot of work still has to be done on our end to get a result.”
