The Warrnambool redhead won the 2017 Koroit Irish Festival ‘Flaming Folk Person of the Year’ award on Saturday, giving her a new appreciation of her ginger locks.
The seven year old won $300 in prizes and a Ranga of the Year sash.
Koroit ex-pat Sally Morris, who sponsored the award, said Rosie was chosen ahead of a dozen other entrants because of the effort she put into displaying traditional Irish colours.
“She looks like a traditional redhead,” she said. “And that’s what we’re celebrating here today.”
Fellow redhead Ms Morris said the festival was a fantastic way to recognise a traditionally Irish trait.
