The works, on what is commonly called Golf Course Road, include the installation of a left-turn lane at the Port Fairy Golf Club entrance.
Roadwork speed limits are in place and traffic will be stopped during the works.
Moyne Shire road crews are also working to improve the alignment and widen the Skenes and Woodbine roads intersection.
Works also will include drainage works, improved signage and line markings across both locations.
The improvements are funded entirely through the National Black Spot Program.
Works are expected to continue into next week at least.
