The Hampden league rivals will have four days to prepare for their next matches.

The short break comes after the pair had to wait 17 days between their round one and two games due to the Easter break.

Kangaroos coach Matt Dunn and Tigers counterpart Luke Crane said recovery was paramount to their chances of toppling Cobden and Warrnambool in round three respectively.

Dunn, who will unveil former Fremantle key forward Adam Campbell and welcome back defender Josh Meulendyks, said the gap was “not ideal”.

“We value the opportunity to play on Anzac Day so it’s a small sacrifice we have to pay,” he said.

“We’ll have varied training to adjust. We’ll have Wednesday night in the pool and a stretching session and any injuries, bumps and soreness will be treated.

“We’ll train Thursday depending on how the boys pull up.”

Crane said the Tigers would also have a light week on the track.

“We’ll go to the pool or beach on Thursday night and try and get our bodies right,” he said.

“We train Thursday nights (normally) and everyone is fit and firing by then and that’s four days after a game, so it shouldn’t be too bad (against Warrnambool), especially with a younger group.”

The Anzac Day senior football match starts at 5.30pm and open netball at 3.30pm.
