TWO Dennington stars at the peak of their powers are set to join the Dogs’ 100-game club.

Reliable defender Luke Moutray and popular midcourter Krystal Day will line up in milestone matches against Old Collegians on Saturday.

Moutray, who joined the club in 2012 and is often tasked with the opposition’s best forward, said he was honoured to achieve the feat.

“Looking at the books last year, I knew I was going to be close this year. I knew I was just shy of 100,” he said.

“Since I’ve been here, there has always been finals. The 2015 premiership was obviously great but also playing interleague was a highlight.

“Winning that flag has always been a dream, so it’s been a good journey.”

Day, a two-time premiership player with the Dogs, said the vibe around the club was one of rebirth following the return of several 2015 flag winners.

“Blending last year’s team with that one feels a bit like we’re rebuilding,” she said.

She said the support of the club and wider Dennington community which came on the back of a wrist injury last year meant she felt at home.

“I felt very lucky and grateful to be cared for,” she said.
