The property at 226 Griffith Street is on the market at $2 million and is proof of the old real estate adage about the importance of location.
As the last (or first, depending on which way you’re going) house on the eastern edge of Port Fairy, it offers unrivalled panoramic views along East Beach, Lockett & Co Real Estate sales manager Paula Dwyer said.
Ms Dwyer said the house was one of two that had been in the possession of a Melbourne family for more than 30 years, but the death of the family’s patriarch had led to the sale.
The other house, located two doors down, sold recently after being listed at $2.5 million. Its final selling price is confidential.
Despite being an unremarkable house, 226 Griffith Street has been attracting a lot of attention.
Ms Dwyer said the interest came from the block’s potential, with room for a subdivision, subject to Moyne Shire Council approval.
