Co-ordinator Loren Hackett said there was “lots of cool things” planned and invited the public to share their events or ideas online.
“We really want to get people interested in the festival which generates cultural and economic growth in the cooler months,” Ms Hackett said.
The festival is held on alternate weekends from June 9 and finishes on July 11.
Ms Hackett said locals and visitors were welcome to share their talents, produce or passions as part of the “diverse and engaging program”.
She said festival events and activities fell under four main pillars: community, arts, music and food and wine.
Organisers are calling for submissions in areas including food and wine, cinema, theatre or live performance, live or electronic music, art exhibitions, workshops, community fund-raisers, forums and sporting or outdoor activities.
Submissions can be lodged at portfairywinterweekends.com.au/2017-events-and-sponsors-2/ until April 22.
