The Warrnambool export won a playoff against former world number one Lee Westwood and Pat Perez to win his group section and advance.
The trio made par on the first hole before Perez fired a two-over par six on the second hole and Westwood made par.
Leishman shot a birdie to eliminate the other two.
He will play his match on Sunday morning, Australian Standard Time.
