Christopher Anthony Kane, 46, of Argyle Street, pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court to three counts of theft, two of stalking and two of unauthorised use of a computer.
He was jailed for two years with a minimum 18 months to serve before being eligible for parole.
Kane moved out of his family home early last year but he continued running his communications business using his laptop and mobile phone.
In April he gave a long-time employee the use of his laptop who noticed a folder. He checked out that and other folders and noticed some images taken from inside a house that was not Kane’s home.
The stored images included underwear in a drawer and on a bed and a naked girl drying herself.
The employee copied 148 images onto a USB, spoke to Kane's wife and she notified police.
Kane was arrested and his electronic and storage devices were seized.
Victoria Police ecrime investigators found the laptop and storage devices contained 65,957 images including 25,000 original images of one woman and her underwear.
Some images were taken inside her home.
There were also thousands of images of that woman's family photos and videos.
Time stamps indicated the images were taken over about eight years, up to within seven days of Kane being arrested.
There were numerous photos taken inside the woman's home, and they included images of Kane fondling and wearing the woman's underwear.
