A car has rolled on a busy Melbourne CBD intersection on Friday morning, taking out a set of traffic lights and briefly blocking tram routes through the city.

It is believed that the car was travelling north on Swanston Street when it veered off course about 6.40am and crashed into a traffic light pole.
The car then flipped and slid up the street, before coming to rest on the tram tracks at the intersection with Bourke Street.
The driver then left the vehicle and fled.
A witness chased the man west along Bourke Street, but lost sight of him when he ran into a building.
It is believed the man was bleeding from the head, Victoria Police said.
The driver was described as being caucasian in appearance, about 170 centimetres tall with a clean-shaven head. He was wearing a black long-sleeved top and shorts, police said.
There were no passengers in the car at the time of the collision.
For about an hour, the car, lying on its side, blocked tram lines at the intersection of Swanston and Bourke Streets, prompting Yarra Trams to divert Routes 86 and 96 in both directions via La Trobe Street.
At 7.40am, Yarra Trams announced that the trams had resumed, but warned of delays as the timetable was restored.
Two Metropolitan Fire Brigade trucks arrived at the scene, along with police, and VicRoads technicians were sent to restore the traffic lights.
A man was later taken into police custody for questioning. It was not immediately clear if the man was the driver.
