STAFF and students at Warrnambool East Primary School have made a new commitment to being happy.
Taking part in their first International Day of Happiness on Monday, all 479 students were focusing on a whole-school approach to caring for each others’ well-being.
Positive education coordinator Karen Holdsworth said celebrating the day fit well in equipping students with a positive mindset.
“It’s an opportunity to celebrate and recognise how positivity affects a students learning,” she said.
“It’s a good start.
“By asking our students to think deeper than materialistic means they start to think about how they can contribute to positive relationships, which forms part of one of our school’s themes – ‘If we do good, we feel good.”
