Gold thrashed City Memorial Green by 46 shots last week to book at a place in the Tuesday pennant preliminary final.
They will lock horns with a dangerous Koroit Orange – a team which just lost to minor premier City Memorial Gold last week – and Warrnambool third Pat Boyd was anticipating a tough clash.
“They’re a real tough one. They’ve got a good little side out there,” she said.
“It should be a close game but we don’t know as of yet. The green is usually pretty good over at Port Fairy.”
Boyd lauded Warrnambool’s form and admitted it was hitting its straps.
“Two rinks (led by Helen Lock and Judy Symmons) had very big wins last week and looked strong,” she said.
“But Tuesday is another day and we don’t know what the weather will do. Someone said its supposed to be 32 and it could be a total fire ban.
“Once it gets to 34 there is no bowls on so we’re hoping we can stay below that so we can play.” The winner will play City Memorial Gold in the grand final next week.
