Mr Heard, 37, now of Kellys Road, appeared in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court for a remand hearing and did not apply for bail.
He will be held in custody until March 20.
Monday, 7.40am: A 37-YEAR-OLD shearer has been arrested after a one-kilometre foot chase across Kirkstall paddocks.
The man failed to appear in Warrnambool Magistrates Court in September last year for judicial monitoring after being sentenced and warrants were issued for his arrest.
He has since been actively avoiding police and run from officers a number of times.
On Friday night police went to a Kirkstall home about 8pm after receiving information the man was living there with a family member.
He ran from police officers again across paddocks but a particularly fit officer chased him down.
The man was subdued with capsicum spray, arrested, interviewed, charged and will appear in court on Monday for a bail/remand application.
