Hundreds of people made their way along through the day to browse stalls and watch presentations on topics ranging from sustainable architecture to growing vegetables using aquaponics.
Murray Dancey and his son Jackson were showcasing a drone they built using open source software and hardware.
Mr Dancey, who founded the Warrnambool Maker’s Club, said the process of making it from scratch provided a strong learning experience.
Glenelg Hopkins Management Catchment Authority representative Lucy Cameron was dressed in a specially-designed estuary perch fish costume to promote a project aiming to attract the fish back to the Merri River.
Ms Cameron said adding specially-made timber habitats back into the river using cranes, part of the big fish hotel project, made it more appealing to fish.
