Jackson has signed with the Kardinia Park-based club and has also shifted his schooling to the city in an effort to make the most of the opportunity.
The Eels premiership player said he was thrilled to join the prestigious club.
“I’m really looking forward to learning even more from them and from what they can teach me as a player,” Jackson said.
“It’s a different competition to what I’m used to, and I’m looking forward to the challenges it will pose.”
His stellar season continued last Sunday, when he smashed 100 for Victoria Country’s under 17 side in a showcase match against Under 16 Dowling County all-star team.
Jackson said he was pleased to spend time in the middle and hoped to carry his representative form into country cricket.
“Every time you play those sort of games you take a lot away,” he said.
“There’s stuff I learn every time. Then, when I’m going to the nets with dad, I’ve got certain things to work on and the basics are really good to work with.
“I’ve been trying to focus on relaxing and to not overthink what I’m doing with the ball. “It’s about watching the ball. The best players do the basics well over a long period.”
