Brian Edmondstone, 26, appeared in Warrnambool Magistrates Court where he was remanded in custody until February 27.
Police claim he was involved in a violent incident with a partner in Ballarat before moving to Warrnambool where his mother lives. He has been charged with stealing wine, stubbies, delicatessen products and a bottle of spirits from supermarkets.
