Warrnambool caravan owner Terry Hawkins is leading the charge to bring the new club to life.
Mr Hawkins is a member of the Limestone Coasters Caravan Club from South Australia and believes the time is right for Warrnambool to have its own group.
“I have been thinking about getting something up and going for a couple of years now,” Mr Hawkins said.
“It seems silly that if you are from Warrnambool and want to join a caravan club, the nearest place to do so is across the border.
“The amount of caravans, RVs and campervans is expanding at a rapid rate.”
The Limestone Coasters Caravan Club has a monthly muster where the group goes to stay in different places.
Its next muster is in Warrnambool on March 24 to 26 at Surfside Gardens Holiday Park.
This will be used as a recruitment tool for the new club and people interested are urged to head along.
