The Cancer Council fund-raiser will be held at the Cobden Recreation Reserve from 5pm on Saturday and run as a continuous relay until 11am on Sunday.
Committee member Becky McCann said activities this year included an outdoor cinema, children’s craft, scavenger hunt, trivia, Lions club merry-go-round, dance demonstration and live music by more than eight local acts, including the Bec Milly Band, Luke Bourchier and well-known flute player Howlin’ Wind.
“This year we’re introducing a team activities passport, with loads of little challenges, which is the perfect way to keep team members entertained and engaged throughout the Relay,” she said.
“Teams are encouraged to dress up their campsite, as well as themselves, with awards on offer for the best dressed team, best team campsite and best team baton.
“It’s never too late to get your fund-raising efforts kick-started, or prepare something to do at the event – every little bit helps, and the committee are here to help if you have an idea.”
Ms McCann said the activities were aimed at revitalising the family-friendly event.
Over the years, overnight Corangamite Relay For Life, held at a different venue each year, has raised more than $700,000 for cancer research and treatment.
