This is the question Koroit St Patrick’s Primary School grade five and six students posed to AFL footballer, and former Koroit resident, Martin Gleeson.
Gleeson visited the school on Friday to talk to students about leadership.
Other guests who spoke on the topic included Deakin University Warrnambool campus director Alistair McCosh and Emmanuel College 2016 school captain Joey Brady.
Grade five and six teacher Leisa McCosh said Gleeson attended the school as a child and the Essendon defender “loved coming back to speak to the students”.
“Martin said that a good leader was one who was approachable, led by example and could think outside the box,” she said.
“The students were so excited to have him visit. It was like there was a movie star in the room.”
Gleeson made his senior AFL debut in 2014 and has played 51 games at the club.
The former Koroit and North Ballarat Rebels player was pick 53 in the 2012 draft.
