The Meerkats toppled Hawkesdale for 122 last Saturday and were within 60 runs of victory at the start of play on Saturday, with captain Chris Lenehan and opener Justin Coates combining for a 170-run partnership to bring in the triumph.
Lenehan said he was pleased his side had extended time at the crease leading into the final weeks of home-and-away play.
He led his side with a stunning 101 not out, while Coates hit 77.
“Once you get the runs you need, the pressure is off a little bit and then you have a bit of freedom with the bat,” he said.
“We did most of the hard work last week. We bowled well and had those few runs on the board to take into the second innings.”
Grassmere, locked in second, will play Yambuk at Rodger Henderson Oval next week.
