Logan Matthews-Keys, 24, of Robertson Street, Casterton, appeared in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Monday via a video link for a mention hearing.
He indicated through solicitor Meg Tait he would plead guilty in relation to six briefs of evidence, including breaching a community corrections order which may trigger re-sentencing for previous offending.
MONDAY: A MAN charged with multiple counts of drug trafficking centrally locked his car and drove off from police, will be back in court on Monday.
Logan Matthews-Keys, 24, of Robertson Street, Casterton, was denied bail in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court late last week.
Magistrate Michael Coghlan indicated it was an application doomed to fail as Mr Matthew-Keys had failed to appear in court a number of times and was due in court again on Monday.
He described the application as a waste of time, no one was in court to support the accused, there was no available surety and Mr Matthews-Keys was at real risk of being imprisoned.
"I don't know why this application was made," he said.
Police said that on September 15 last year Mr Matthew-Keys was a passenger in a car intercepted in Hamilton.
Police noticed a strong odor of cannabis and found a glass ice pipe, prescription medication and two mobile phones which contained evidence of drug trafficking.
Mr Matthews-Keys admitted the items were his and he was charged with offences including drug trafficking.
He then failed to appear in court a number of times and warrants were issued for his arrest.
On November 10 he was intercepted by police in Hamilton with three passengers.
He centrally locked his car and simply drove off along Lonsdale Street.
Mr Matthews-Keys was on bail at the time but breached conditions by not living in Casterton and has since actively avoided police.
On January 4 he was involved in a $91 petrol drive-off.
In mid-January he was pulled over again by police in a Mitsubishi carrying false registration plates.
He had a small axe, jemmy bar, an ice deal bag, cannabis and digital scales in the car and messages on his mobile phone relating to trafficking cannabis.
On his current community corrections order he only attended one appointment.
He said he wanted bail so he could go back to work after spending time in the police cells.
